G.M. Hopkins had a poetic form that veered from the more conventional meters. He called it Sprung Rhythm. I borrow the term to describe my own veering from patterns and rhythms of life that are selfish and complacent. I’m not certain how this blog will benefit my veering, but I’m hopeful that it will serve to benefit those, along with myself, who wish to be sprung from their personal traditions of being jerks, internet trolls, hypocrites, and party-poopers.
I’m a husband, a father of 4, and believer in God’s grace. I’m not very good at any of these. I’m a musician, writer, dreamer, table tennis player, and foodie. I’m pretty decent at all of these. I’m a worrier, procrastinator, scoffer, and night owl. I’m way too good at these. I’m hoping that one day this list will be turned on its head.
